캐나다인 하이킹 그룹인 OutdoorAdventure.org 은 10월 18일 (일)에 캐나다 동쪽 대서양 해변부터 서쪽 태평양 해변까지를 연결하는 The Great Trail의 일부 구간을 하이킹 합니다. 10월 18일(일요일)에 한인 산행 모임은 없고 이 행사로 대체합니다.

FORECAST: 8°C (high); 5°C (low).
LOCATION: Whiteshell Provincial Park.
DISTANCE: Drive (approx. 123 KM/1 HR 23 MIN);
TRAIL: (7 KM/2 HR or 15 KM/4 HR 15).

Non-Members: $20 (Cash, E-Transfer or PayPal/Credit Card).
Carpooling: $30/number of people ($10/each with 2-passengers).

TERRAIN: Rocky Snow Trail with some Elevation.
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate.
REQUIRED: 4-RSVPs; Park Pass; Water (insulated).
RECOMMENDED: Base layers (tee-shirt; long-sleeve shirt; long johns); Snacks; Whistle; Hiking poles; Mid-hike shirt/socks; Change of shirt/jacket for ride home.
We meet at Tim Horton's (1521 Dugald Rd) around 10:15 AM, drive at 10:30 AM, and hike at 12 PM to or from McGillivary Falls depending on trail option the group chooses.
POINTS OF INTEREST:
This particular type of drainage system controlling factor in this pattern is the erosion-resistant bedrock of the area. The pattern is known as deranged drainage and indicates the earlier activity of glaciers. This stream is relatively young in terms of geological time, and that this is a primitive drainage system. After many thousands of years, this waterfall will erode down to a smooth channel.
