POINTS OF INTEREST:
King's Park was once called Washington peninsula, and this aesthetically designed marvel is thanks to Market Gardeners in 1945, and more recently our Chinese Community. During the 1997 Flood, this park saved much of Fort Richmond due to the clay collected to create a dike and creating a storage basin. Once the waters resided back into the Red River, clean filled was added featuring a three tier water fall pond, Chinese pagoda gardens and Carol Shield's Memorial Labyrinth.
The University of Manitoba's river trails starts behind the Wallace Building, adjacent to the Red River. The path meanders up and down agriculture field connecting to experiment relics (old chicken koop and forgotten sculptures).
