POINTS OF INTEREST:
The architectural ruins of Our Lady of the Prairies, built in 1903 by the Trappist Order, pursued a life of prayer, work and contemplation in this secluded location along the LaSalle River.
As urban encroached their life of peaceful solitude, the Trappists' moved, and the Ruins were later designated as a provincial heritage site. The Guest House Building is now home to the St. Norbert Arts Centre with a mission to promote Earth, Spirit, and Culture.
On July 10, 2001, the Dharma Centre of Winnipeg constructed a World Peace Pagoda behind the St. Norbert Arts Centre, which is described as a highly spiritual piece of architecture.
The whole area was later designated as a provincial park in 2002, and welcome people from all walks of life to participate in a community cultural experiences.
