MEC에서 주관하는 마라톤 대회가 9월 24일 (일) 위니펙 시 북쪽 외곽에 인접한 동 세인트 폴(EAST SAINT PAUL)에서 있습니다. 원래 처음 행사가 발표될 때는 아시니보인 공원에서 있을 예정이었는데 이번에 행사 장소가 변경되어 발표되었습니다.

동 세인트 폴(EAST SAINT PAUL)은 헨더슨 하이웨이(Henderson Hwy)를 따라 북쪽으로 가다 위니펙 외곽 순환도로(Perimeter Hwy)를 지나면 나오는 지역입니다. 달리기 지도를 확인해 보니 10 km 와 15 km는 연못을 끼고 달리는 경치가 예쁜 이글 크릭(Eagle Creek) 마을의 일부 또는 전부를 한바퀴 도는 코스가 들어가 있어서 달리는 즐거움을 마음껏 누릴 수 있을 것으로 생각됩니다.

행사날까지 이제 한 달이 조금 넘게 남았는데, 마라톤 달리기 초보자라도 지금부터 열심히 준비하면 최소한 5km 달리기에는 참가할 수 있을 것으로 생각됩니다. 열심히 달려서 건강을 지키시길 바랍니다.

달리기 행사 끝나고, 인근에 있는 아래 지역을 가 보시면 더 좋을 것 같습니다.

All MEC Winnipeg Races are GUN START. For accurate timing, please plan accordingly to ensure you are at the start line at your distance's start time.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

MEC Winnipeg is committed to the standards of fair play at our races. If any participant breaches our rules and regulations, we hold the right to disqualify them from our race.

Bib and Chip: Only registered participants wearing their assigned bib numbers and chips will be allowed on the courses. Your bib (worn on the front and visible) tells our course marshals that you have registered for your run and belong on the course.
If you cannot run in the race: You cannot transfer your assigned bib and chip to another runner.
Every participant must run the whole distance that they are registered in: Any course cutting will be treated as unauthorized short cuts and a major violation of our fair play standards.
Start Line: Runners are strongly encourage to seed themselves according to their projected pace. Projected fast pace runners should be at the front and a runner with a slower projected pace or walkers should be near the back.
Gun Start: Remember, your bib and chip will give you your real time and if you miss your Gun Start for your distance, any delays would not count toward your finishing time.

SAFETY INFORMATION

All routes are open to public, please be courteous and be aware of cars, dogs, and cyclists.
If you are using headphones, please respect other event participants and the general public by leaving one ear free so that you can hear any potential safety information.
If you are participating with a stroller, please position yourself at the very back of the pack so that other participants do not have to run and walk around you.
Due to liability reasons, dogs are not permitted to run with participants.

GETTING THERE

There is parking onsite, but as always, MEC encourages participants to carpool to the site.

SUSTAINABLITY

Waste Management: There will be garbage bins at the event site and Recycle Everywhere will be bringing reycling bins that will be place at the event site and on race course at our water refill stations. A compost bin will be beside our refreshment tent for you to drop your bananna peels.

Green Hydration with BYOB "Bring Your Own Bottle": To help with our initiative to limit waste and our carbon footprint, we suggest you stay hydrated and keep our environment clean by bringing your own refillable water bottle on race day. You will be responsible for carrying your bottle throughout the event. Water refill stations will be available along the race route.
