REQUIRED: 4-RSVP Participants; Water (insulated).
RECOMMENDED: Red head light (available onsite); Head/neck wear; Gloves; Base layers (tee-shirt; long-sleeve shirt; long johns/tights).
OPTIONAL: Hiking Poles (available onsite); Home Shuttle Service (FREE on the way; otherwise $0.50/KM).
We meet at McBeth House Centre (31 McBeth Street) around 6 PM and hike at 6:15 PM.
POINTS OF INTEREST:
McBeth House – Once a Scottish family’s early pioneer home, it is now a seniors activity centre. The McBeth family gifted the home and surrounding farming property to the City of Winnipeg for use as a passive park. Tall grass prairie restoration site – At one time tall grass prairie was a vast sea of waving grasses and wildflowers extending from southern Manitoba to Texas. This pleasant trail skirts the Red River and weaves through a lovely greenspace. It has scenic overlooks, decorative benches and foot bridges.
