REQUIRED: 5-RSVPs; Park Pass; Water (insulated).
RECOMMENDED: Base layers (tee-shirt; long-sleeve shirt; long johns); Head/neck wear.
OPTIONAL: Hiking Poles (available onsite); Home Shuttle Service (FREE on the way; otherwise $0.50/KM).
We'll meet around 1 PM at the end of John Bruce Road (John Bruce Park) and hike at 1:15 PM.
POINTS OF INTEREST:
The most popular attraction in the forest is the Spirit Guardians. In the heart of Royalwood, this 117 acre urban forest containing river bottom, wetland, oak forest, aspen forest, and grassland ecosystems. Some of the special feature are series of oxbows bend or loop in the river, and tree carvings. Seine River is the ‘heart and lungs’ of the parkway system, the largest remaining riverbank forest in the city with its natural state of beauty.
